Eating a ground squirrel. Similar in size to red tailed hawk. A little smaller than turkey vulture which is in last picture.
White-tailed kite appeared right after, but I think this is a different bird. Thought it might be a leucistic northern harrier, and Merlin Bird ID said it was a harrier, and the kite didn’t appear at all.
Medium sized snake on the trail.

I saw about half a dozen of these bees in the sage garden here. Several males were in pursuit of females, and mating when possible.
Feeding on a planted Rudbeckia.
