Found fruiting gregariously at base of a few mature Douglas firs.
Small cluster of Hydnum. First time seeing their pins, too!
Same patch that’s been fruiting the last week, perfect ripeness. This patch was covered with woodchips last year, and these ones are fruiting at the layer between the old soil and wood chips, making it incredibly easy to find, very little digging necessary.
I found one that was parasitized by hypomyces chrysopermus.
First time searching for, and possibly finding matsutake (?). The smell is more floral than expected, not like gym socks to me. Want to be careful not to confuse with Amanita.
Came into the Northwest Mushroomers Association fungus fair in Bellingham.
Trailside ditch with a heavily decomposed log forming the side of the ditch. 10-15 feet of this log was lined with these small chanterelles.
Surrounding area was mainly mid-age Doug fir, a few small hemlock, small cedar, lots of salal and huckleberry. Trail lined with a bit of moss on each side.
Including some close ups and photos of blue fluorescence
