Snowy Plover, chorlito nevado (Charadrius nivosus) Cassin, 1858. Este chorlito recientemente dividido parece haber disminuido rápidamente en partes de su área de distribución, aunque la población puede haber permanecido estable en otros. En general, se sospecha una disminución moderadamente rápida de la población, debido a los efectos de la pérdida y degradación del hábitat y la perturbación de los sitios de anidación. Por lo tanto, la especie aparece como casi amenazada.
2014 - Casi amenazados (NT), es un migrante parcial generalizado en América del Norte, América Central, el oeste de América del Sur y el Caribe, donde ocupa hábitats costeros y aguas interiores, generalmente salinas (del Hoyo et al., 1996). I have found two female moths I believe are Cecropia, however I am in the sonoran desert in Arizona and their range isn't supposed to go this far. Perhaps someones pets that they let loose? The first female I found laid her eggs while I was handling her.
