The conifer wasn't a pine and had dark green, scaly leaves, like a juniper. The branches were very straight and shot out from the main trunk. This is the only species of cypress in Asilomar, making its home in the Closed-Cone Pine Forest.

Between 5-10 seen inside individual Opuntia humifusa flowers. Seemingly feeding on nectar at base of style.
