Elizabeth and I went over to Mallard Cove Park -- the sun was just trying to peak out from the clouds, but the clouds and rain won... Nonetheless, we still spotted some neat things! :)
Newt ~paedomorph part of life cycle
Times are AM
a dozen sightings of individuals this day, up the creek near the weir
Salamander
two scrambling in the dirt
Egg masses in Lewis Creek. ID is extremely tentative.
A northern Pacific tree frog was vocalizing nearby.
Large egg mass in shallow (~15 cm deep), slow-flowing water, ca. 15x12 cm in size. Egg mass bumpy, loose, "wavy", not firm.

I wonder how often they lay eggs. Is this just a March thing?
