American Turkey Oak (Quercus laevis)

Description

With Valeri Ponzo; the final day of a three-day trip to Walker, Louisiana and back, taking a very circuitous route through the Panhandle to iNat several counties that we had rarely or never visited before. I have now photographed at least one bird species in each of Florida's 67 counties!

And so we finally bird Gulf County, the final county for which neither of us have any iNat data. We first birded the cemetery, which was virtually birdless, so we drove the entire road until the gate at Two Pen Ridge Road, then returned to State Road 22 and continued east into town for lunch.

My field notebook does not specify where in Wewahitchka we were, 1200-1220, presumably getting lunch (Subway was one of our go-to lunch spots). Since the town is so small, I drew a 500-meter circle around the center point.
