Found curled up in the lawn. It didn't flee the approaching lawnmower or attempt to escape when I picked it up. It just kind of waved its head back and forth. Had a couple small marks on it. Brought it to a wildlife rehab the next day. Contacted the rehabber today and he said that the snake had died.
Not only was it in the pool, it had a large leopard frog in its mouth and fighting to get away.
Click for video. I've never seen one do this "ribbon" motion before. https://www.flickr.com/photos/8755853@N06/54045726340/in/datetaken/

Snake…rat snake?
Very small (9”) in house garden. Very clean so I suspect very young. Leaning to a Gopher snake ID, but unsure. Probably eating grasshoppers.
Lampropeltis calligastor?
Pituophis catenifer?
