DOR in busy intersection, unfortunately quite fresh as the body was slightly reactive when laid down from being moved out of the road.
Second Copperhead of the week, possibly the same individual. Similar size and found in the adjacent flower bed to the previous snake. They are more than welcome to stay.
Edit to add that this individual moved around the same flower bed for another day or two before presumably moving on.
Images sent to me by an associate who requested that in this report I include that for the brief time when its status was not certain my associate decided on naming him Noodle. This is a deceased individual, cause of death uncertain as according to my associate this individual has no clear external aliments and rigor mortis had largely yet to set in. Additionally the local weather of the night before should not have been fatally dangerous.
Seen with Trizzle26 and homosapien_1. Relocated away from the residential region and released into a shallow microhabitat abundant in hiding places, slow moving water, and small frogs (juvenile Lithobates sphenocephalus and Acris blanchardi).
Top (thinner) snake in first image, record for the male of the pair.
My first actual snake relocation. Courting pair of Western Rats which I removed and relocated about a half a mile from the chicken coop of a ladies home in Willis. Released about 1/5 of a mile off the road into into some logs along a mostly dried creek bed in fairly open woodlands, habitat pictured in the final four images.
