Walpole Bioblitz 2024 Site 16
I don't know what this thing is. AN insect? A gall? I tried to take a closer look but lost it, and couldn't see any others nearby.

Large tick, approx 7 mm body length, removed from neck at Boddington Hospital with considerable difficulty. The nylon filement was used to strangle the tick after freezing failed. Yellow spot on back and physical size make this hard to match to known Australian tick species. Suggestions welcome. Time of observation was when tick was removed, Tick likely attached itself the previous day, exact location unsure.
