I was happy to discover the reason why quite a few tiny juvenile Conus were lying in the lagoon.
Adult specimens like these are the most important for a healthy population.
Because of sandstorm visibility in her hiding place, she was moved a meter further away and turned over briefly for a photo. Because of us, she did not had to experience the water surface or pressure equalization. After the photos, she was back in her hiding place.
(Like all species within the genus Conus, these snails are protected by local Canarian regulations & laws, they predatory, poisonous and venomous & capable of "stinging" humans, therefore live ones should not be handled.)
