iNaturalist has sparked a renewed excitement about going outside and making observations.

I'm trained in herpetology but focus on amphibians. My masters in ecology was on habitat selection of chorus frogs in the Montreal region (formerly western chorus frog - or depending on the whimsy of the analysis triseriata or maculata). Worked on diets analysis of larval anurans in the Beaverhills region of Alberta - again focusing on chorus frogs but examining the effects of larval environment on diets and recruitment.

Now I'm an assistant professor of biology at MacEwan university where I'm always overly excited about exploring diversity and now trying to impart some of that enthusiasm on my students - I've even got them working on observations within iNaturalist for an assignment - hoping to develop more observations.

My iNaturalist goal is to add observations in places that few have travelled or posted. So my pictures may not be great, but the data is!
