I am an aquatic ecologist and work for the Canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland in the water quality department. During my studies I specialised in the systematics of diatoms and their function as bioindicators. I can recognise many freshwater algae at genus level and representatives of the macrozoobenthos at family level.
