Description
Although I concede this is not the place for inappropriate innuendo, suffice to say I can think of three dirty jokes here just off the top of my head.
update 9/26 - the caterpillar became rambunxious and appeared to be sloughing some thoracic integument, and I believed it to be ready to go pupate for the winter. As much as I’d love to photograph this as a newly emerged adult, I am not adequately prepared to overwinter the pupa of a dedicated soil obligate. Previous attempts have led to fungal pathogens due to incorrect moisture and temperature levels. So I just released this individual since it will know what it needs better than I do.

This was not a captive ermine. Not sure how it got in the house, but it left through the open front door shortly after three photos taken.
