Seen while visiting Choke Canyon.
Seen well for a moment high on top of a hill. With some imagination you can see the face and ears.
Saw it on my porch this morning.
American alligator (lower left) silently scoping out the group of American White Pelicans. We observed it for over 2 hours, but it never moved.
Seen at the pond at SA Botanical Gardens.

5” specimen. Found after a night of rain.
Seen on my porch. There was another one I tried to get, but it flew away.
I had never seen a clawed frog larger than a couple inches. This monster was approaching 6 inches. I suspected it was a clawed frog at the time, but I really didn't know because of the size. In hindsight, I probably should have brought it home to live in an aquarium. It may have grown so large by feeding on the other amphibians in this playa.
Lubbock Co., TX
Several 2 inch long tadpoles in a man-made pond with flowing water.
Pair on hillside. Sorry I missed the curly horns in the photo :<
Found dead on the road by a colleague. Known to have been introduced in the area within the last 2 years.
Seen while hiking down the creek. Found in a small ditch with little water.
Not casual grade, not captive. Spotted in the garden section of my local Home Depot.
Found dead in grass near apartment complex water drainage area. Temperatures in the previous days dipped below freezing.
I had just been in Mexico, where I saw quite a few different iguanas, and I got interested. How common are they in TX? I asked a buddy of mine who lives in Brownsville if he had ever seen any type of Iguanas. He sent me a picture of this, which he said he saw while walking at Morningside Park. He said he’s not sure if it’s still there.
for @sawildlifekid
this roadkill was no doubt dumped by a terrible pet owner at the Park, here just for future documentation

So excited to have seen one the bald eagles at White Rock from my kayak. Not the greatest photos but such a cool experience.
I had been walking down the creek, looking for birds, but I was unlucky. I had decided to go to the city south side which is the best area to find birds. And I was on a rural field, and I found this bald eagle in the air. It was on the east shores of Lake Kilroy.
Boerne Lake. Excited to finally see one of the adult bald eagles!
beer drinking gator ?
First one I've seen, dead or alive in Lower South Grape Creek
Running an errand into San Antonio via the back roads. Stop at roadside with extra shoulder overlooking a creek. There was heavy overcast and car temperate read 45F outside.
I could see the shadow of a big bird coming in the horizon. Earlier 2 c.aracaras had passed by as I step out my car. My thoughts it was another c.aracara coming my way. So I braced myself and made like a tripod. The shadow did get any better thru the camera view finder. As I click away, strangely in the back of my mind this bird did not fly like a c.aracara but rather it soar thru the cold air with great dominance and with little effort.
There is an active bald eagle nest in Tomball behind Target located at FM2920 & Highway 249 (address 14302 FM 2920 Rd, Tomball, TX 77377).
This active bald eagle nest is easy to find and enjoy, but definitely bring your binoculars because it's across a large detention pond from the back of Target.
