Port Aransas Jetty
First of all, yes, there are bullfrogs in the storm pond behind our property, over a 6’ rock wall. The pond can potentially be 30’ deep with water when full, but we have never seen that. It did get to about 26’ deep with water during the big rains and floods several years ago. These last few years it normally maintains about 3’ - 10’ of water. With all that said, I will never believe that this bullfrog, when alive, hopped up out of the pond, crossed the 10’-12’ top surface and climbed that 6’ rock wall to end up behind our garage. It had to have gotten there with some help; a cat, a fox, raccoon, a large bird, or a human up to no good. Regardless, it is the dead carcass of what is probably a bullfrog that had resided in the storm pond.
Hundreds of Tadpoles in a backyard limestone pond. There’s a group of toads that hang out in a small cavity under the bog filter for the pond.
