About 15 ft. row of sticky monkey flower, currently leaves brown, about 20 ft above trail more or less isocontour. Why does monkey flower grow in rows like this?
Row of monkey flower about 40 ft below trail, more or less isocontour. With seedling oaks, which are scattered throughout these woods. There also are a lot of smallish oak stumps and dead oaks. Possibly this steep west-facing slope is the limit of where they can survive.
