@cooperj @else @funkeytom any opinions on moving Hymenopellis into Oudemansiella at this point?
Good idea to deal with this one James. I agree with placing Hymenopellis and Cribbea under Oudemansiella, as Hymenopellis is not monophyletic and Cribbea is just a secotioid Oudemansiella (Lebel 2017).
Indeed, a classification consistent with molecular phylogeny, as suggested by @else Vellinga (2010) and adopted by Yang et al. (2009) and Qin et al. (2014), is to accept Xerula sens. strict. (for X. pudens and allies), Paraxerula and a broad Oudemansiella, which includes the genera: Cribbea, Dactylosporina, Hymenopellis (for Oudemansiella radicata and allies), Mucidula (for O. mucida and allies), Ponticulomyces and Protoxerula.
